The family is gone and friends don’t arrive until tomorrow so we have 1 full day all to ourselves and we found a Children’s Museum to spend the morning at. It was perfect for AJ, better than good for Tyler and just okay for Jaxon age kids.

We did it. Norm and I left Jaxon and Tyler with my parents for the whole weekend and we went to Palm Desert. It is something we have been talking about doing for a long time, and wanting to do for even longer than that!
There was always something that kept us from doing it. But now, with the impending arrival of Baby #3, we realized if going away was something we wanted to do we better do it before he comes or it may be at least another year before there is another possibility.
For some of you with big(ger) families you may think this is crazy, but, with the addition of kids to the family the yearly vacation the Sulpizio’s used to go on became tough and more stressful than what anyone wanted. So instead of an inclusive “Sulpizo Family Vacation” my parents offered to do vacations with each family. This year Lorri and Tricia both chose to go Mammoth and my mother went along and I believe Lorri is going to Yosemite in August with both my parents. This method, especially while the kids are young, just work for our family better.
Our family was originally searching for some hotel in Arizona or something like that to go relax at, but we decided to trade in our week as a family, for a weekend as adults.
We went over to La Jolla Friday morning and spent the morning playing with the boys at the beach. We had lunch and put them down for their naps and once they were down, off we went.
Everything about the weekend went perfect. We had a great time in the desert and the boys did excellent with grandma and grandpa. We took our camera but didn’t end up taking many pictures.

We had nothing to do for the weekend and the forecast was for overcast days in Rancho and sunny days up in Palm Desert so we made the trek and spent the weekend.
